In this special Centenary year for the band, it was an honour and a privilege to play once again on the stage at the Glasgow Royal Concert Hall. In putting together this concert , the idea was not only to reflect back on moments in our history and honour past players and composers, but also to look forward to a bright future. It seemed fitting that we chose a title to mirror this concept. We have always prided ourselves on playing material which we enjoyed, and as a direct result we have often received the reputation over the years as being 'innovative' - where many of the tunes were simply traditional tunes played in a contemporary style, arranged along side much newer material. Piping Up a Storm - The World Pipe Band Championship, held annually in Glasgow, attracts an international audience of over 50,000 to the City. It includes THE WORLD PIPE BAND CHAMPIONSHIPS - Glasgow Green is the venue for this prestigious event and tention is high, with more than 8,000 pipers and drummers competing on the day; THE HIGHLAND GAMES - which features some of the Worls's top athletes; HIGHLAND DANCING - the dancing championships attract dancers not just from Scotland but many from North America too and the MASS BANDS PARADE with bands from Scotland and all over the world.

It is a colourful spectacle not to be missed.
