Winter School. Bruggen

The College of Piping Winter School
Bruggen, Dusseldorf, Germany, Feb 8th -15th, 2009

The College of Piping and The Piperscorner Shop are pleased to offer the 3rd Winter School in Brüggen from Sunday 8th till Sunday 15th February 2009 inclusive.  This will mean that accommodation and meals will be included from Sunday evening to the following Sunday morning.  The venue will be the same as the last 2 years at the well-appointed youth hostel http://old.web02.djh.de/international/html/01-hostels/extended_jh.jsp?IDJH=439 set in pleasant woodland at Brüggen, about 45 KMs west of Düsseldorf.  Classes are open to all levels of ability and there will be PDQB examinations at the end of the week.
Due to the amount of classrooms available there will be one class of either pipers or drummers deleted for next year.  This will mean that every class/group will have a proper classroom.
We are going to expand the school and offer a weeklong Drum/Majors course with the possibility of taking examinations and perhaps becoming qualified up to Senior Drum/Major level.  Billy Jordan (World Champion Drum/Major) has kindly offered his assistance with this and more details will available later.
We are very pleased that Bagpipe makers David Naill & Co and Wallace Bagpipes from Glasgow are going to sponsor the school with various prizes and a set of bagpipes will once again be presented to the most improved student.
There will be a graduation ceremony at the conclusion of the school followed by an instructors/students/pipe band concert and hopefully Irish dancing display, in Schloss Dilborn on the Saturday evening, 14 February.
