Annual Conference
The Annual Conference will take place in the Birnam Hotel, Birnam, Perthshire beginning at 9.30am on Saturday 24th March and ending at lunchtime Sunday 25th March. The cost to attend the conference and staying in the Hotel is £160 for a single room or £130 if you share a twin or double. First to book get first choice of what is available. This covers two nights accommodation and all meals from breakfast on Saturday up to and including breakfast and morning tea/coffee on Sunday. The cost for attending the conference for those not staying at the hotel is £35 and if they wish dinner on Saturday evening the cost is a further £26, not £20 as previously stated.
The conference includes talks on Archie MacNeill prepared by Hector Russell and Dugald MacNeill, Professor Alan Armstrong on John Grant who was a Piobaireachd Society instructor during the first world war, Patrick Molard giving interpretations of the Campbell Canntaireachd using Donald MacDonald replica drones and chanter and a session on this year’s set tunes on the Sunday morning given by students from the degree piping course at the Royal Conservetoire of Scotland. This will be followed by the AGM.
