The College of Piping offers subsidised teaching worldwide via the web. Timings need to be mutually convenient and students should be aware of GMT/BST time zones. Fees are £7 ($10US approx.) for 20 minutes and need to be paid up front by credit card. In the event of technical difficulties, the first fee is refundable. Subsequent lesson fees are not. Students should be aware of the limitations of internet lessons. They cannot be compared to proper one-to-one tuition, but in the absence of a tutor they do offer good assistance for the isolated student and can be of significant benefit. Internet students should have suitable communications software such as Skype on their computer as well as a web camera and microphone. They should also have a broadband connection at the highest speed possible. Once you have booked a lesson you will be contacted by email firstly to check technical set up and then to agree mutually suitable timings.
