PT Ed’s Blog updated 27/7/12
Off to Lochaber. One thing’s for sure it won’t be cancelled like a number of games and pipe band competitions recently. It is about the weather and money. Waterlogged parks are a nuisance but it is the damage vehicles bring and the cost of restoring a field that is the real cost for cash strapped organising committees. Well done to all those who, despite financial difficulties, did manage to put their event on. Will post Lochaber results tomorrow evening.

Former Strathclyde Police champion Iain Watson is now fully esconsed as our internet lessons man. Costs are £7 for 20 minutes and Iain is doing the lessons from home as well as from the CoP so overseas students needn’t worry too much about time zones. Book lessons here and Iain will be in touch. If you’d like to chat with him before booking email him on Weird email eh? Don’t ask. By the way the lessons are subsidised by the College Shop so don’t pay more than you have to for world class tutition.

Barnaby Brown as sent this: ‘Last year, I took a 21-year-old cinematographer to Sardinia to document an undiscovered mouth music tradition. Carlo D’Alessandro saw an opportunity and produced this trailer: http://youtu.be/1FGHzem-cvE. The technical and artistic quality of Carlo’s work blew me away. As the island is so beautiful, Luigi Lai has such a glorious personality, and his 3000-year-old musical tradition is so fascinating, we decided to raise our sights and make a TV documentary. Crowd fundraising enables us to take this project forward, and there are signals that the BBC could come on board at about 70% completion. I’d be grateful if you could help us by: encouraging people to visit www.indiegogo.com/maestroluigilai, spreading the word by newsletter, email, facebook, tweet, etc. making a donation at www.indiegogo.com/maestroluigilai ($20 and we’ll send you a DVD of the finished documentary film)’

This from Ryan Moore in Canada: Hi, just wanted to thank you for your app… love having something that’s “bagpipe related” on the Play Store and not be some piece of shoddy midi files and hackneyed tripe. I did a review of it for my blog, it’ll go out Wednesday, July 25 here: http://www.androidincanada.ca/?p=15153
