RS200 - Iain MacInnes - Sealbh RS200 - Iain MacInnes - Sealbh

Bagpipe and whistle music from Scotland.

That Iain MacInnes is a consummate musician would have been reason enough to encourage him to produce this CD of bagpipe and whistle music. But with this he combines a sensitive appreciation of how to accompany his preferred instruments with others to produce beautiful music. He also has an intimate knowledge of the nations traditional music collections and a deep understanding of Scottish culture in general. As if that were not enough Iain has an uncommon talent when it comes to composing new music. In Sealbh, we have the happy result of Iains abundant talents being brought to bear. Sealbh is inspired, full of novelty, and simply beautiful.

RS111 - Colla Mo Run - Allan MacDonald and Margaret Stewart RS111 - Colla Mo Run - Allan MacDonald and Margaret Stewart

The second album of Gaelic songs from Margaret Stewart, combined with Allan MacDonald's innovative and lyrical piobaireachd style. The clarity and precision of Margaret's voice make it appreciable even to those who are not generally keen on Gaelic song, and her deft intonation will impress those who are already fans. Allan's Highland pipes set off Margaret's voice in the haunting airs, and his smallpipes provide a fitting backing for his own vocals.
