Following the very successful camp in 2011 the College of Piping is pleased to announce the continuation of its summer teaching programme in the eastern United States. The New England Summer Camp runs from July 5 - 11, 2012 at The Governor's Academy, Byfield, MA. Fees (to be confirmed) are £450 GBP (approx. $715USD), and include all meals, accommodation and tuition. 25% deposit secures place.
The schedule for the camp is: gather 11am July 5; auditions and lessons, supper and then recital or lecture. Each day thereafter will have Reveille at 7am, Breakfast 8am, Assembly 9am and classes 9.30am. These will continue with breaks for lunch etc until 4pm when there will be a daily band practice. Also at this time there will be a piobaireachd class. Supper will be circa 5pm with the recital/ talk to follow at 7pm. The curriculum followed will be that of the College of Piping tried and tested over 60 years and more. A full range of exam options will be available. Exams will take place on July 9 and closing concert and awards ceremony July 10. Farewell and evaluation July 11. All welcome. All levels and ages catered for. Chief instructor is Robert Wallace, CoP Principal and faculty includes Barry Donaldson (multi Worlds winner with Strathclyde Police), William Geddes (twice Gold Medal runner-up), CoP Manager Willie Park, Billy Jordan (champion drum major). Other additions to the teaching faculty as required.
