To celebrate our 65th year, the College of Piping will be hosting a concert on Saturday 30 January 2010. This concert will celebrate the completion of our six year renewal programme. Taken in two stages, the renewal began with the demolition of the old college building and construction of the new premises, during which time activities were relocated to Stow College. The new building was officially opened on 9 October 2003 and activities on Otago Street quickly resumed. Settled into our new premises, it soon became evident that demand for piping tuition and performance required a larger space, and proposals were put forward for a purpose -built hall to accommodate teaching, performance, and lectures. The lecture hall opened its doors to the piping public in spring 2008, with World's week activities and the revived Echoes of Oban concert part of the 'Christening' of the new hall. Sixty-five years on, the College is very proud of its achievements and we invite you all to help us celebrate! Joining us will be the House of Edgar Shotts & Dykehead Pipe Band, Inveraray & District Pipe Band, and soloist Stuart Liddell.
A free buffet and cash bar will be available. We hope you will be able to join us!
